The best campsites for families

Camping with children in the Bernese Oberland: an unforgettable adventure for the entire family

Camping with children is more than just a holiday – it is an exciting adventure that brings you closer together as a family! Sleeping under the stars with no fuss, no fixed mealtimes and cooking up a plan with the children from the neighbouring tent – that's what true freedom feels like!

There is no chance of getting bored at the campsites here in the Bernese Oberland, as many of them have been specially designed to meet the needs of families with children and, depending on the category of campsite, offer many child-friendly facilities such as playgrounds, sports fields, bathing opportunities and even children's entertainment.

One thing all our campsites have in common is their proximity to unspoilt nature. Surrounded by majestic mountains, clear lakes, idyllic Alpine pastures and babbling mountain streams, there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy authentic experiences of nature. Parents can enjoy the impressive mountain panoramas along child-friendly theme trails, while the children are so busy with dwarf stories or riddle fun that they almost forget that they are actually hiking. Dragon stories make gorges and dripstone caves even more spooky, and let's be honest: nothing tastes as good as a piece of stick bread, gently charred over the fire and turned with great care, does it?
